Lordon specializes in working with communities to assist in forward planning,
building a strong financial base and creating a neighborhood within an association.
Don Melching founded Lordon in 1966 after working with a developer in the startup
and operation of 25,000 units including motels, apartments, and homeowners
associations. During that time, he developed a fundamental belief that there was
a need for a management firm where the team members managed the property as if it
was their own. The property management industry was in its early development and
there was an inherent need for an experienced firm that could handle the unique
needs of individual owners, support and educate Board of Directors and foster
the members' desires to minimize expenses while creating a community that would
enhance their property values and way of life.
Don's personal philosophy was that commitment, dedication, integrity and honesty
would be the fundamental building blocks of a company that would create a management
program to overcome the criticism of management in the industry as well as fulfill
the ideals that he had established. This vision helped Lordon to develop and
thrive for over forty years into a company that has a highly regarded reputation
and serves approximately 200 communities.
He has the confidence and pride in the Lordon Management Team and believes that
they will continually strive to meet and exceed the highest levels of expectations
for management performance. Lordon will continue to meet the highest of ethical
